Hi all, I have just had a system installed and thought all was going well… Until the last few days.
I have my battery set to export at 4pm to 6pm with a min level of 50%. If my battery is below 50% during the expert times the house pulls from the grid and it looks like my battery pauses everything. If I adjust the export time to a past time in the day, the house starts running off the battery and sola again.
Ive noticed this only happens if the battery is below 50% at the export time. What am i doing wrong?!
When you use the timed export function for the battery the house will always pull from the grid, so it’s not financially viable really, selling at say, 15p only to buy back at 25p. I think this happens Because it’s a forced export. GE may know more.
It’s better (financially) to export the battery early in the overnight cheap period, you get the 15p but only pay the 7p for import. The battery then charges up once your timed export slot ends (assuming you set the times appropriately. (Eg, cheap slot is 1130-0530, so timed export for 2 hours (1130-0130), then timed charge for 4 hours (some folks discharge twice, not sure how much heat that puts into the battery though) to maximise income.
