Hi, about 2 weeks ago my AIO batteries charged up overnight as normal but failed to discharge during the day, the solar topped them up to 100% and they have been full since.
The technicians have done a firmware and software update and carried out battery calibrations which have not run so the batteries remain in full state.
My installer has replaced the LoRa transmitters and the ct meters but to no avail.
sounds like you need to keep pushing the issue with your installer and givenergy support. maybe something set wrong on the AIO?
You could try doing a ‘reset to defaults’ of the inverter in the portal, this can sometimes cure ‘not working’ type issues
Hello Matt, did you manage to get this sorted out as i am facing the same issue. I have reset the defaults, restarted the battery but no results. Have been sending whatsapp message to Givenergy but absolutly no updates. So any help from you will be greatly appreciated.
Hi . Look at settings Geoffrey recommends for AIO after doing reset back to factory settings. It’s shocking the support is so poor after ‘we’ spend that amount of cash!
have a look at this post Battery not discharging after pause using quick settings
Good morning.
I have raised issues about AIO not covering the house demand before, after the overnight ‘cheap rate charging session’.
Generally it has been an ‘incorrect setting’ or similar correctable error . Last night however EV on charge via Octopus sessions of which the last one was not due to finish till 6am. I did what I usually do and reduced the AIO discharge setting to 500 watts overnight ( rather than pause the battery since I have had previous issues on it not resuming ‘normal’ activities via the app quick settings)
Reducing the AIO discharge settings prevents the battery from discharging into the EV and ensures that most of the EV charge is from grid. On waking up I noticed that the grid was still providing the house demand about 350watts rather than the battery which normally covers house demand from 5.30 am. The AIO seemed to be in idle mode and no app quick settings would get it to resume ‘normal’ activity. I logged into the cloud to see if anything was amiss and no all settings were as they should be.
I tried the ‘Enable DC discharge mode’(last resort) which for me is usually ‘off’. Immediately the AIO started to export to grid at maximum setting. Good so AIO no longer in idle mode but not what I want. I therefore disabled the ‘DC discharge mode’ and yes the export to grid stopped and hurrah the AIO resumed normal activity covering house demand as it should do. Since then this morning everything looks ok and battery now 100% charged by solar and exporting to grid as it should. I have no idea why the AIO went in to idle mode and did not resume covering house demand even at my previous 500w setting, very strange.
DC discharge mode needs to be enabled, as it alludes to, turning this on enables your batteries (which are DC power) to discharge.
If you look at the remote control history on the portal you might get a clue as to when/why this got turned off, but it should normally always be on and you can control discharging by use of pause mode (on the portal) or battery discharge rate as you normally do
thanks for that quick response.
Unfortunately when I update inverter to ‘enable DC discharge’ the AIO immediately tries to export to grid at whatever discharge setting i currently have set less house demand.
I have tried this before when the AIO was apparently ‘paused’ after 05.30 morning charge ended.
There must be something else stopping the AIO from picking up at 05.30 automatically.
What timed discharge settings have you got set on your AIO?
On the portal you can click the little round symbol to the side of the times to force a re-download of the information from the inverter. Check all the time slots in case one is set to discharge.
Thank you Geoffrey, once again for prompt response.I did as you suggested refreshed all the charge/ discharge schedules and found charge schedule 2 which initially showed 00.00 on both start and stop but once refreshed showed 06.25 am as end of charge which explains why the AIO was not active after 05.30 but was able to be active later in the morning !
Thank you so much. I will hope tomorrow morning will prove that all is back to normal. Many thanks anyway.
I will cancel my support number response tomorrow as well. Many thanks K
