Battery software 3017 and 3018 limit the charge rate to 60% if the average temperature of the battery (as measured by the 4 sensors) is below 21 deg. Note this is not the BMS temperature which is on a circuit board and is usually hotter. To see the 4 sensor temperatures use the App “Monitor for GivEnergy Inverter” by Andrew Miller.
I’m assuming this is also why I’m occasionally getting 1.9kw charge instead of 4.87ish from my 5.2kw gen 1 battery. The winter battery conditioning doesn’t seem to take effect because my battery is loft mounted and reads over 10c, but on British gas Peaksave days (Sunday 11am-4pm at present), if I charge from the mains after having little/no charge in the dreary weather during the week, it says 100% charged after an hour, but only contains 1.9kw. The solution I found weekend just passed, was to turn the charge from grid off after an hour, let it run down, then charge it again - not ideal :(
