I have everything needed from your email. I will pass to the Energy flow team
Thank you - much appreciated. Great to see some GE customer support in this forum.
Im not customer support, RnD, but thanks anyway
I would also like to try the trial Energy flows reporting. Fed up with seeing nonsense almost every day for last 11 weeks. Very strange that every now and then I get a report that looks logical.
ill pass the info to the portal and energy team
Thanks Dragon, stats have looked OK for 4 days now since 16th, perhaps they have fixed problem.
Looking a little more normal for PV generation for me for the last few days, too. But I’ve seen this before for a few consecutive days then it goes back to mad numbers. Will keep it a longer period until I call it fixed.
Have noticed this morning the portal seems to have “lost” my AIO. The mobile app has it, but portal has it just missing. Very odd…
My portal OK today but I don’t have AIO
It’s very wet here today - and my inverters have been tripping out in the rain (GE are replacing under warranty).
I will give it a re-start later today and see what’s going on. Never seen the AIO & EV charger disappear from the portal before. Both still showing in the app. Just odd.
Ah - I was logged into my “inverters” account rather than AIO account. All showing normally now.
I’ve also had reasonable data for the last week or so. @TheDragon_Giv do you know whether they have pushed the update to everyone? If and when they do, will it also fix historical data (at least back to the clock change in October when the issue started)?
my understanding of the issue is that it is a display problem, not the underlying data that is at fault. So when the fix gets deployed it will automatically show historical data correctly
As TheDragon said, he works in RnD not customer support
I think I’ve had normal numbers from 16 Jan onwards.
It’s not only PV generation which went mad - but home consumption also.
Historic data still showing incorrectly - so wondering if the fix is “fully” applied yet or otherwise:
I see more or less the same as you @Backx. 15th January was day the issue last presented for me, since then, the go forward data looks correct. There were still some minor discrepancies between metered solar and half-hourly data until Jan 27th (for me these only presented on days when I exported), but from 28th January onwards that too looks pretty good.
I also don’t have fixed historic data though. I am guessing now, but I suspect it is not just a display issue for the energy graph. It would be a lot of heavy lifting to recalculate the whole energy graph on the fly from inverter data every time there were an API call or a Portal refresh, so I suspect this data is transformed and stored/cached (which would also explain why the energy graph always lags the power graph). Assuming this is where the error was, if this algorithm were fixed, history would still need to be recalculated from the inverter data, but new data would be correct.
Glad to hear someone else has at least had the same experience as me! The energy graph (legacy) card in the portal AFAIK shows the correct information still. You can also see the specific inverter data in another menu.
This is why I’m so confused by the bug and the lack of notification in the portal from GE about it. Why no comms?
